Oxford University’s contribution to automated driving
The most recent newsletter by the 2025AD magazine, which is managed by the automotive supplier Continental, lists the seven most innovative universities in the field of automated driving. The only European institution to make it on the list is the prestigious British Oxford University. The article specifically mentions its contribution to the GATEway project, which is currently being trialed in the United Kingdom. Oxbotica, a spin-off company of Oxford University, build the prototype that is currently tested in the project. Two other universities on the list are Asian, the remaining ones are located in the United States. Other European institutions that are active in the promotion of automated driving, such as the RWTH Aachen in both CAD partner projects SCOUT and CARTRE, or Jacobs University Bremen, which leads the Hights project, were not mentioned.
