Connected vehicles soon to be circulating around French cities

08.02.2018

In 2017, the French Capital was the scenario of several experiments with autonomous cars. Paris started the year testing automated shuttles on a dedicated lane of the Charles de Gaulle bridge and also around the Esplanade de la Défense outside the city. Now, that the test phase has almost been completed, seeing self-driven vehicles around French cities will become a reality.

The positive results, released by the Institute of Opinion, Polls and Marketing Studies (IFOP) where 35.000 users who tried the self-driving vehicles registered 97% satisfaction, have encouraged not only French manufacturers but also the French government to place autonomous vehicles at the heart of the French industrial strategy, as it was claimed by Prime Minister Edouard Philippe during the Industrial Nacional Council meeting held in Paris in November last year.
