Automated Valet Parking launched in Stuttgart

The New Mobility online magazine reported on Monday that an automated valet parking trial was launched at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. For the coming months, German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz and CARTRE project partner Bosch will test and improve their technology at use in the multi-storey car park at the museum. The magazine reports that this is the “world’s first infrastructure-supported solution for an automated drive-up and parking service in real-life dual operating mode.” The service is expected to go into operation in the beginning of 2018, for which public authority licences are still required.
