A new post in CAD VIP Blog
Each month, the CAD VIP Blog gives one opinion leader in the field of Connected and Automated Driving (CAD) the opportunity to share their perspective on the role of knowledge in the future of CAD.
The first article was written by Patrick Child, Deputy Director DG RTD, reiterated the European Commission’s commitment to the CAD Knowledge Base: ”We believe that the Knowledge Base will help to cultivate a shared and common understanding of the goals, challenges, and benefits that connected and automated driving solutions can bring, especially when we take into consideration the cross-cutting nature of this exciting field.”
This month, FIA Region I’s Director General Laurianne Krid, highlights the importance of a user-centered approach towards research, testing and pre-deployment of cooperative, connected and automated mobility (CCAM). In this context, “the CAD Knowledge Base plays a pivotal role in coordinating the results from European research on CCAM, thus fostering a common understanding of the roadblocks society has to overcome to enable coordinated, connected and automated mobility that is safe, user-centered, environmentally sound as well as beneficial to our economy and society.”, she states. The FIA Region I office, based in Brussels, is a consumer body comprising 104 Mobility Clubs that represent over 36 million members from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
